There are two opportunities of many on this trip to give back and exchange energies with the people of Cuzco and the Q'ero. Carrie and I thought it would be nice to visit a Cuzco orphanage early one morning and bring the children some gifts. Carrie is going to inquire what the children need presently, and we could bring what we can of those things to them. We can buy the supplies in Cuzco. It may be food or toys or school supplies, or pure love, along those lines. Carrie told me how she had brought the children at the orphanage a bike one afternoon and how much they loved it. They each took turns riding it, and it brought so much joy, laughter, and fun. I was inspired that we could also as a group if there was interest do something like that too. It's an optional couple hour excursion if you'd like to participate.
The second opportunity is to buy some big bags of rice and perhaps other food supplies for a Q'ero school up in the high mountains. Carrie works closely with the Q'ero and this school, and the rice will give the school children a nice afternoon meal for many weeks to come. They will send pictures back to us of the food being delivered to the school and the children, and it forms a nice rainbow bridge of love from us to them.
I have been setting aside a little extra cash here and there for these gifts. I will also invite family and friends to donate to this opportunity to bring more joy to people's lives and create smiles. When I return I'll share the pictures and the experiences with them so they can feel the power their gifts created. If this is something you'd like to be involved in too, I invite you to have fun and creatively fund-raise, and let's see how many people's lives we can brighten with love and in thoughtful ways as we travel in Peru.
